    East to West Coast Travel

in a matter of hours. The ride home was relatively fast. We started off at around 1030am and reached home exactly at 0500pm. OK for 6 in a vehicle. Typically, the more passengers you have, the slower you travel. The back was riding low, being full of luggage and passengers. We stopped by twice, first to fuel up, and second to eat late lunch at Temerloh. I enjoyed driving the Sentra so much, I didn’t feel tired at all afterwards.

It was raining when we reached Sg. Merab. The front so-called “porch” had been messed up by some dogs in the neighborhood. Some fools were using the dogs to chase around and catch hogs in the secondary forest around us. The surroundings used to be filled up with trees and bushes. I don’t think there’s any more hogs around but the dogs are still on the loose.

    A glimpse of Terengganu

Some things have changed. Batu Enam traffic towards Sg. Nerus is congested. Now Terengganu drivers become nasty, learning from the west coast counterparts.

Not a secure sight – a rider without a helmet speaking to his cellphone

The two stadiums were well under construction. The Sultan Mahmud airport was under some sort of an expansion project. I could already see the huge wings and front facade in bright orange. I saw many Bangladeshi workers roaming the beaches. One even greeted me Salam.

To my relief, Pengkalan Arang was still as peaceful as ever. Dad was born an raised here (not in the house’s original state though – it had gone through many modifications since)

The back side also hasn’t change much. Except that there was an old green Toyota sitting idle. Amazingly still up and running, you have to applaud the skills of my uncle, Ayoh De Pa.
