I passed on bright orange liquid again. And its waxy. Went to see Dr. Z immediately. He referred me to a gastroenterologist at KPJ to have a look. I drove to KPJ right away and registered myself at the Specialist Center on the first floor.

Dr S Kumar… knew right away that I needed to be scoped. This particular doctor was also the one pushing for me to get checked in. He saw me wandering around the waiting area, mentioning that I was supposed to be checked into ward as a preparation for the scoping. I raised both my shoulders in cluelessness and he pulled a nurse to get me checked in a.s.a.p. The nurse finally led me to the registrar one level below, who didn’t seem to have me as a priority too. She picked up the phone while filling up my form and checked up something on the desk first prior to getting me checked in. Whoever on the other end of the line better be someone like the managing director of the hospital or something. Otherwise, the lady got her priority wrong!

They didn’t have a single ward room so they slotted me into a double. The other occupant was a chinese, accompanied by his wife. He told the person at the other end line the phone about getting discharged tomorrow but he was actually discharged on the same day. (White lie, perhaps.)

I stayed in S460-A. Nice walls and curtains. The bed was of Paramount, a 4-wheeler with 2 foldable side rails. The side of the bed head and tails had holes for sticking in a multi-purpose stand, say if you need to have an IV bag or some kind of monitoring machine attached to your body. There were 4 power points on the wall that the bed head faced, 2 of which were on emergency power, evident by the red-colored switches. There were 2 sockets for oxygen and vacuum, a hardwire paging button, and a speaker on the same wall, all lined up one after another. Very well equipped.

They had me drink 2 bottles of laxatives and I excreted 3 times. Prior to the first bottle, a nurse inserted in liquid stimulant into my ass so my feces would be discharged out quickly. That’s the third private intrusion today. I was about to yell at other nurses that whoever wanted to stick their fingers into my ass would better get on with it now while my ass was open.

MSH called when one of the nurses was interviewing me. The nurse heard our conversation about whether or not I’d be sedated because I couldn’t answer that particular question. After hanging up I heard the nurse said, “Yes, you’d be sedated.” All right. I wish I had known that. I didn’t notice the time but an Appendix patient checked in out of nowhere. His entire relatives came. It was a bit noisy but heck… I couldn’t stand quiet for long anyway. I was slow in the bowel progress because of those people “being” in the room.

Mom and CB came prior to the colonoscopy + OGDS. I excreted 3 more times before going into the procedure room. Dr. Kumar asked if any of my relatives can witness the scoping. Mom walked in to see what happened. Dad called mom and she let dad to talk straight to Dr. Kumar. I had 3 wounds in my intestine (lower? colon)… about half a cm each, all were finally “sealed”. The doctor also pulled a tissue sample for bacterial infection test (not sure from the stomach or lower intestines). It’s negative. My gastric was found to be more serious than diagnosed before.

leftarm
This thing on my left arm irked me greatly. It was used twice only – provision of a tube of blood sample and antibiotic insertion – and the thing stayed there infesting my arm. What a bummer.

Muzani, Alya, Ashbi and Adik arrived much later. I was still in my bare-back robe that I wore prior to the scoping. It’s good to see everyone. Really appreciated it. I felt much better and a sudden urge to heal.

I retired early. Exhausted.
