I made the call of discontinuing with the ridiculous repeat and and move forward with a different set of tests. Forget with office. They don’t know what the situation is like out here. Idealistic sog.

Subhanallah. Sunset was beautiful offshore.

After the telecon with office, we were instructed to do a ridiculous repeat of tests at lower pressure. Fortunately, the boat ride was not so bad.

Warisan Alam.

I double checked everything. The claim was that, the instrumentation was not tuned and calibrated properly. But I discovered that the process control & instrumentation was functional. So it was a bogus claim afterall!
The reservoir rep and I worked our asses off to prove that our claim was right. We indeed were and the blue [...]

Today is the day I would complete 1001 days with the company.
I was traveling offshore to prove my case. Engineers must walk the talk… then only you become a true engineer.

Friday on the east coast wasn’t anywhere near the normal atmosphere. The Beriani shop I used to drop by with JC Goh was closed. The [...]

Offshore again

27Mar08

Suddenly I have to go offshore tomorrow. Shucks. But the reservoir executive would come along. Nice.
I could sense some political tension to this. The other engineer assigned offshore earlier has been deemed “the son of the company” and supervisors trust him more. I immediately become the stepson although I am more technically savvy and experienced.

I presented the Coriolis topic again, this time to other department. Although I’m not the official spokesperson of Emerson, they are aware of my ambassadorial role in promoting it and they grant the access to their presentation materials.
Then I headed to Kajang to sort out this Celcom SIM stuff. FYI, I am migrating from Maxis [...]

I had to cancel my earlier plan to see Dr. S. Kumar. That’s because my boss had setup a telecon with offshore (specifically, the Leaf platform). He had assigned another engineer to go offshore… to do the tail-end portion of my job. I significantly felt that I couldn’t skip that.

Gone to Emerson office again for Coriolis training to the Operation. Then I went to office and felt bad all over. My superior dropped by to remind on filling up the appraisal form by end of the month.
