Review package to the management

Posted in thoughts, work by zzeed on May 2nd, 2008

It feels a little scary to prepare a review package for the lead country manager that would actually portray the work of two departments. What the h***? The team simply delegated everything to me, assuming I would know what to tell the lead man the entirety of the situation. I really hate the delegation and segregation of duties concept. We seem to have that a lot. I think big companies happen to revolve around that by the masses. I personally think the concept kills teamwork.

I don’t know. Hopefully “ownership” concept will save me. LOL.

    I found these quote:

“I’ll answer some of your questions, the more difficult ones will be answered by my colleagues.”

    – Roland Smith (1928– ), British business executive.
Observer (London) Speech, Annual General Meeting, British Aerospace.

    and…

“If you don’t delegate, then you are really just a supervisor working directly with the people and guiding their every movement.”

    – Philip B. Crosby (1926– ), U.S. business executive.
The Art of Getting Your Own Sweet Way.

Delegation is an art form :P (of saving the superior’s arses).

hmm, it’s a form of art? :-P the more skillful leader will even delegate the delegation.
