Tazkirah (Surau ME: 13 Mar 2008, Ust. Meeftah

The human beings are elevated a level higher due to knowledge. And only when Allah allows and teaches that knowledge. According to the analysis of Ulama’, the beginnings of Surah like ” Yaa Siin, Alif Laam Miim…” and so on, are the indications from Allah to us servants that our knowledge is limited. Had Allah not clarify and explain it to us via the prophets and angels, we normal human beings wouldn’t be able to know what those verses really mean.

Based on Ulama’s opinions, the interpretations of these verses are:
    1) Yaa Siin for instance could have meant, “Oh, Human Beings.”
    2) It could be a call name for prophet Muhammad.
    3) It could be a call or a shout to attract audience and attentions to the Book of Qur’an. The basis is that… these verses are normally followed with a statement about the Book Al-Qur’an.

    Example*:

    Surah Yaasiin verses 1-2 [36:1-2]

    يس . والقرآن الحكيم

Nearest translation: “Yaa Siin . By the Quran, full of Wisdom.

    Surah Al-Baqarah verses 1-2 [2:1-2]

الم . ذلك الكتب لا ريب فيه هدى للمتقين

Nearest translation: “Alif Laam Miim. This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah.

*Note: Verses in the Qur’an come with more complete markings for proper tajwid, punctuation, prolongation, and so on.

Wallahua’lam. It’s the short version of the tazkirah. Please refer to the more knowledgeable ones for clarifications.

  • Objective: Re-constructive Surgery

zzeed 10:08 pm on Tuesday, May 13, 08 Permalink | Reply

I called up the hospital to talk to the doctor who checked my knee but they wouldn’t give the doctor’s number to patients. So I ended up explaining to the nurse/receptionist my request and prayed to God that my intent would pass around in one piece. I have finally decided to go under the re-constructive surgery and I was hoping that the doctor could make that recommendation official. In print. I have decided to go under the knife for the following reasons (not in any order):

    1) Longevity. I need to use the knee for at least 35 more years, given that I live that long.

    2) Durability. Not a step goes by that I’m not afraid that the knee would pop again.

    3) Validity. I’ve “digged” up the experience of one of my seniors who had that particular reconstructive surgery before. He said, “I have a much stronger lower body now and the knees are much more stable.”

    4) Responsibility. I hope my parents will stay on healthy, but I have to be strong enough if one day I need to lift them.

    5) Prosperity. So I can live active and healthy again and become happier. And MSH will be happier too.

InsyaAllah. (Only with Allah’s permission.) Amiin.
