One of the most common lines describing generation gaps:
You can bring a horse to the edge of the water – but you can’t force it to drink.
I could recall the time when I was in school, the principal was so resentful to hear that phrase coming from the students. He thought that the students are all disobeying rules & regulations. That was a downright sign of generation clash – the older generation prefers control and directions over everything – the newer generation prefers more open, creativity and freedom in the things they do.
Who’s fault? Nobody’s at fault. It’s just… the world is an entirely different place today. It’s much harder to keep up.
