Who is the bigger crook? A corrupted politician/banker with bribery skills or a bank robber?
1) Visibility: Which is more subtle? Both sort of rob you in the daylight. But one is could be more thief than the other.
2) Cover-up: The last time I heard, corruption is being spreaded as: Money politics. Robbery is still called robbery.

Another difference is, robbers could be shot to kill at site. (I’ve heard a case where 5 robbers were accidentally shot during a police chase and arrest. All 5? Heat of the battle?) White collar folks, lower probability that the enforcement would break down their door and put an end to that at site. Some of the enforcement could already be on the white-collar’s payroll.
