It was time for an oratory test. Eric, Hidayah and I teamed up as the controls & measurement team debaters. We were the opposition for an intra-department safety debate, the topic of which was,

“the biggest safety hurdle in Malaysia is risk perception, and not risk tolerance.”

I think we pulled it off quite well. We got the right closure to the topic, but the 3-minute limit was our kryptonite. I was the third debater, the last speaker with rebuttals. Despite my attempt to wrap it up with a bang, it didn’t quite swing the judges still.

Late evening, Kaklong was admitted to the hospital. Niece born on 1 Muharram.
