This particular Dilbert comic strip that featured on January 18, 2010 made me laugh.

I can relate to this – if you outsource everything to third party, contractors and all – then who else do you need inside the company? Would the contracting staff or contract engineers be able to scrutinize the vision, mission, technical, objective, quality of the work to be in the same bandwidth as that of the company? The answer is no in most cases. (Heck, some companies manage contracts on the sides – no dedicated contract staff or contract engineers in place.)

I love Dilbert comic strips.

As an engineer who thinks that not all management and not all of management actions are correct, I can really relate to the cartoons. Incorrect management by itself is not a problem. It is a problem if it has measured the feedback, attempted on corrective course, and still stuck in la-la land.
