Last night was my first 8-hour sleep after so many years. Maybe that’s because I could only get a few hours of sleep the last two nights.
Today I discovered a paragraph from external safety alerts that’s quite profound in the message. This is the first time that I see a company spelling the dilemma out loud :
“A production culture will generate a response of circumnavigating safety requirements if it is perceived it will save time, in the face of continuous safety messages describing the correct behaviors.”
I have always heard of production to be the bigger boss (from corridor talk, off-the-record jokes, employees slurs, and so on), and that’s how we kept on breaking our safety record. But not in print like the above.
